In this part of the world it is still relatively new and unknown. Basically, the idea is to provide a small corner or room in the office for massages (with bed or chair). Regardless is for an hour on a massage bed or a few minutes of quick fix on a massage chair, corporate therapy is definitely making everybody happy in the office. Strangely to say, Singapore as a well established business hub internationally, such office wellness trend is still pretty alienated. I believed due to the office culture here as most bosses still couldn't agree the need of having massages in the office. We like to draw a clear line between where to relax and where to seriously make money. Unlike western office culture, many organisations there have already having such benefit for their staffs. One of the reason is they have noticed that there are better ways of using their company welfare fund and one of them is to support their physical and mental needs of the staffs well being. There are research show that organisations who cater such activity in the office help to reduce number of medical leaves, increase productivity and efficiency, staffs feel protected and happy that management do concern about their health and naturally level of integrity and loyalty increases. I remember my first corporate therapy project was with a marketing company in 2007 and till now I'm still weekly engage by some foreign organisations in Singapore. Even though I don't get the chance to work in a office environment, I am proud to have a position in the office called "Mr Battery Charger".
