To me the definition of "Holiday" mean do anything that helps you to de-stress (stay away from work and phone) and do whatever you like that makes you happy. I always love the nature and especially the beach and the forest. So usually I will end up having my holidays in resorts in southeast asia. So far, I have visited quite a few and currently top of my list is Chiang Mai, Bali and Phuket. Obviously, the reason is they have so many choices of spas that sometimes I just didn't have enough time and money to try all of them. Usually I prefer those that are standalone spas (not attached to established hotels) as they have more characters, more flexible in timing and definitely cheaper (well, cheaper doesn't mean is bad). My personal view is most of the established spa chains in the hotels sometimes over glamorised or emphasised the ambiance and facilities they have but to the actual content (spa treatments) sometimes can be disappointing. What I really upset was especially when I feel like a well marinated chicken or a dead corpse throughout the session. But then again, luck play a big part here as you never know what you get only after laying down.
I will start from here telling all my experiences (good and bad) about those spas or massage clinics or parlours that I have visit. And I would love to hear those that you have tried too. Drop me a note!
